We happened to hit the story of Esther in Bible time this week, and since Purim was last week we had our own little Purim party in school today (on the Persian rug, appropriately). We'd been invited to one last year, and learned that the celebration includes costumes and noisemakers and treats:
King Ahasuerus #1 (the vacuum attachment is a scepter) with the Hamantaschen cookies ("Haman's hats"), which don't look much like the picture on the recipe, but were tasty:

I take it no one wanted to be Haman. And I don't suppose there will be any of those cookies left by the time I get there?
